Sofia stock indices close mixed, M+S Hydraulic slows
SOFIA (Bulgaria), September 16 (SeeNews) — Two of the four main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed lower on Friday, with blue-chip SOFIX falling 0.22% to 603.74 points, according to data from the stock market.
SOFIX was dragged down by a 3.30% decline in M+S Hydraulic [BUL:MSH] at 8.80 levs as well as a drop of 1.94% in Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG] at 2.02 levs in a trading volume of 1,900.
Weak performance from Eurohold and M+S Hydraulic also kept the BGBX40 index, which tracks the exchange’s 40 most traded stocks, in the red. BGBX40 ended the trading week down 0.08% to 139.93 points, despite jumping 9.49% in Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria [BUL:ZHBG] at 0.173 lbs.
In contrast, the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have an equal weight, rose 0.14% to 731.37 points, after Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] and Elana AgroCredit [BUL:EAC] recorded gains of 2.65% and 2.00%, respectively.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, added the most on Friday, 0.52% to 182.64 points.
Manufacturer of batteries Monbat [BUL:MONB] was the most traded stock today, with no less than 66,653 shares bought and sold at an average price of 4.62 levs. It closed up 0.42% at 4.80 levs, generating a turnover of 319,934 levs.
Total turnover in the main BSE market fell to 912,754 levs ($465,720/466,680 euros) on Friday from some 2.21 million levs on Thursday.
