To celebrate the birth of a baby girl in his family, a man from Betul district in Madhya Pradesh distributes free gasoline. Gas pump owner Deepak Sainani has decided to do something unique to celebrate the birth of his sister Sikha Porwal’s baby girl on October 9. “Since opening the gas pump in March of this year, I wanted to find a way to give back to my customers and the birth of the baby girl during the auspicious days of Navaratri gave me the necessary impetus,” he said. Sainani told indianexpress.com.

Hesitant at first, Sainani didn’t want people to see this as a marketing gimmick to promote his gas pump. However, after much consideration, he finally decided to execute her. “I didn’t want people to see this as a cheap publicity stunt, which is why I sat on the idea for a while, but then decided to go ahead because I felt that it was the idea that mattered. “

After coming up with a plan, Sainani decided to execute it on the auspicious days of Ashtami, Navami and Dussehra which fall on October 13, 14 and 15 of this year. He even put up a sign informing his customers of the extra 5 to 10% gasoline offered on the occasion of his niece’s birth.

Sainani analyzed the peak hours of his gas pump and offered additional gasoline during those hours. “I observed the peak customer traffic between 9 and 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and therefore decided to offer the additional 5 to 10% at that time,” said Sainani. An additional five percent was offered to those who bought gasoline worth Rs 100 and 10 percent for those who bought Rs 200 to 500.

When asked how customers responded, Sainani said he didn’t think much about the response as his idea was to share the happiness. He also meant it as a gift to his sister, who has different abilities and had returned to Betul for the birth of the child. Sainani is co-owner of the gas pump with his brother.

“The birth of a girl should be celebrated with as much pomp and pomp as the birth of a boy. There shouldn’t be any difference, ”Deepak’s uncle Raju Sainani told indianexpress.com.
