HBNY Plumbing & Heating Urges Building Owners To Schedule Local Law 152 Gas Inspection Soon

Licensed Master Plumbers are in high demand to meet the extended June 30 deadline.

New York, NY, United States – January 07, 2022 – While June may seem far away, a local plumbing company, HBNY Plumbing & Heating, is urging building owners and operators in Community Districts (CD) 2, 5, 7, 13 and 18 in all boroughs to make plans . now to meet the requirements of Local Gas Inspection Law 152 by the June 30, 2022 deadline extension.

As part of New York City’s gas safety program, Local Law 152 (LL152) requires certain structures in New York City to have their gas lines inspected regularly, currently once every four years. The deadlines are staggered according to the districts. For buildings in community districts 2, 5, 7, 13 and 18, the inspection certification must be filed before June 30, 2022, otherwise building owners face a civil fine of up to $ 10,000 .

Inspections should be performed by a licensed master plumber or a plumber working directly under the authority of a licensed master plumber who has completed a 7 hour training program acceptable to the dob.

New York-based HBNY Plumbing & Heating wants building owners and operators to book their inspections now before the deadline draws near and appointments are difficult to schedule. Since inspections must be performed by a licensed master plumber or a plumber working under an LMP, finding qualified professionals can quickly become a challenge. “You don’t want to procrastinate on this,” said Harry Bikos, owner of HBNY. “Due to Covid and other factors, there is now a long waiting list for many types of services. Waiting until the last minute to schedule the inspection will cause problems for many homeowners.

Bikos, a licensed master plumber himself, has created a special service offering to streamline this process for building owners. “We know this can become a big headache for building owners and property management companies,” said Bikos, explaining why his business is meeting this important need. The program offers affordable prices based on building size and offers free estimates for larger buildings. HBNY promises a quick turnaround time with planning and completion of the necessary documents. With 17 years of working with high rise buildings and full knowledge of LL152 requirements, HBNY also files for certification with the city to save building owners time and effort.

To maintain the objective of the certification process, HBNY does not offer repair services for anything that does not pass inspection. “We wanted our customers to trust our inspection and recommendations and know that we have no conflicts of interest. We won’t recommend any unnecessary fixes, ”Bikos said.

HBNY is ready to make appointments now for the months leading up to the deadline, and Bikos says their schedule is already filling up quickly. “June will be here before we know it. “
