Donald Martin Kessler was born on May 25, 1939 in Sanborn to Martin and Marie (Weber) Kessler. Don was baptized on June 25, 1939 and confirmed on March 29, 1953 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn. He attended parish school until grade 8 and graduated from Sanborn High School in 1957. Don was married to DeLores Blum on October 14, 1961 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sanborn. This union blessed the couple with two sons. Don was a plumber and pipe fitter and recently received a 50 year lifetime membership in Local 34. Don was a fan of the Twins and Timberwolves. He was an easy going guy and loved to socialize with his friends. Don and DeLores loved traveling to Branson, MO and made several trips there each year for over 35 years. After his retirement, Don was a driver for Kia of Mankato. He loved this job so much that he even convinced DeLores to join it. Later in his life, Don was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored.
Don’s family would like to thank the Mayo Hospice team and the staff at Comfort Residence for their exceptional care.
Life will never be the same again, but there is no one I would have preferred to spend the last 60 years married with. I love you yesterday, today and for eternity. Until we meet again, my love.
